Description

‘I hoped that you would come, Master Kay, because other wolves are running. They’re running after me, and they’re running me very close. It’s not me they want, it’s my Box of Delights that you caught sight of at the inn. If I hand that to you, Master Kay, will you keep it for me, so that they don’t get it?’

The Box of Delights by John Masefield

Dear friend you have the box under your hand! Will you keep it safe? Now its just a matter of showing you how to master it’s immense magical power!

The Box of Delight’s Artificer’s Edition is a bespoke handmade working magical box inspired by the book and the 1980’s BBC TV show of the same name. I have spent many months designing this artefact having decided to pack as much magic into the box as possible!

The box has a fully working 3 way golden rose switch allowing you to select the “Go Swift” & “Go Small” spells as well as a fully automated opening of the box which plays the seminal  Box of Delights theme (Carol Symphony by Victor Hely-Hutchinson). The box has its own automated locking mechanism which is also operated by the gold rose switch. The body of the box is made using 3d printing technology and is made using a printable wood filament. The box is also has 22ct Gold leaf gilded to decorations on the body. Inside the box there is a 64 LED matrix allowing many colour combinations and illuminating the box as it opens. When left switched on the box selects random light and sound effects from its memory entertaining and intriguing it’s owner!
